Sports World meet Techies. - 2
Most of you know that when a bunch of jocks come together (like the MLB) to buy tech equipment well we can all guess that there not gonna make the brightest decisions. Until today? Yes finally the jocks got one right. Discovery News was happy to inform us that MLB is out 54 million dollars in order to buy shirts. Not just any shirts, electronic shirts. These shirts were bought right at the beggining of spring training perfect timing. These shirts can analyze the pitchers form and such. The shirts can reduce injury and and keep athletes in good form. The shirt was devolped by the people at northeaster engineering, Marcus Moche being one, Alexendra Morgan, and David Schmidt being the others. Moche describes the shirts ability and tells us "The shirt can be used to show when a player becomes fatigued and his mechanics worsen..." if thats not cool tell me what is? The shirt has three sensors which are located on the bicep, the forearm, and the lower back and they all measure acceleration and more and are sent by the pitcher and the catcher. The shirts been done before but nothing like this. You could wear this shirt on game day. while other shirts were tested in lab settings. The amazing part is that the shirt is machine washable which pleases coaches, players, and players wifes. The shirt has fewer wires but the next step is to make the shirt wireless. I can't wait to see the shirt in action.
