Houshmandzadeh? - 6
Houshmandzadeh. If you watch football and that name doesn't ring a bell then you obviously know way to many names. T.J Houshmandzadeh who previously played for the Cincinatti Bengals now plays for the Seattle Seahawks. The problem being he had a hernia. Fortunately the Seahawks predict him back soon so the star reciever can make his comeback. The wide reciever of the Seahawks consist of T.J Houshmandzadeh and Deion Branch. Deion Branch is out with knee surgery (his third one within 26 months) so one reciever has to be in action. Fortunately both recievers are expected back this summer.
Chargers Safety Arrested - 5
The San Diego Chargers safety, Kevin Ellison was arrested as of May 24th 2010. He was suspected to be in possesion of a controled substance. The twenty three year old man was pulled over by the police for speeding in a school zone. After checking the car it revealed over 100 pills of Vicodin. Kevin Ellison was arrested on the spot and set for 10,000 dollars bail. Which unfortunately is not a lot of money for these football players. Sgt. Peter Grimm says that Ellison did not have a prescription for these pills and even if he did it would be unusual for a pharmacist to distribute that amount. Ellison played four seasons for Southern California and started nine games for the chargers as a rookie in '09.

NFL Statistics - 4
Since the season didn't end and the trades over i decided to fill in with a statistical article of our QB's and Running Backs. The first position is QB. Drew Brees leads overall with 514 attempts and 363 completions which gives him a 70.6 completion percentage. Behind him is Brett Farve with his 68.4 completion percentage. He's thrown 4202 and 33 touchdowns. Phillip Rivers is third with his longest pass being 81 yards and averaging 266 yards a game. Fourth would be Aaron Rodgers who took Brett Farves place on the packers. He's got a 64.7 completion percentage. Our boy here averages 8.20 per pass. Finally at fifth we have Ben Roethlisburger with a 66.6 pass completion percentage (sign?) and averages 289 yards per game. Our next important offensive player is the running back. Chris Johnson maybe one of the best rushers EVER ran 2006 through this season and ran his longest rush at 91 yards. Up next is Steven Jackson for St. Louis. He's got 324 attempts and has 10 rushes over 20 yards. Third is Thomas Jones who rushed 64 first downs and averages 4.2 yards per rush attempt. Second to last is Maurice Jones-Drew who has 312 attempts and gained 1391 yards last season. Last but not least is Adrian Peterson. Still in the top five with his longest rush being 64 yards and obtaining 12 over 20 yard runs. So there you have it. Enjoy the stats, use them to pick your fantasy football team, or ignore this article completely.

Rebuild or Reload? The Eagles - 3
A famous line from Omar Gaithers an Eagles linebacker. He states "...The Eagles are not an organization that needs to rebuild. We reload. I like to use that term because we have a lot of playmakers on offense and defense." Why might one say this? Becuase the eagles lost 4 starters not including their ever so consistance Brian Westbrook and of course including Donovan McNabb who's chilling over there in washington. Yet as stated they're not rebuilding there just uhm? Hiring a bunch of new people and putting in people they have trained but almost never played after getting rid of four of there starters. Whats the definition of rebuilding? But i would never doubt Andy Reid and his NEW assistant coach, NEW lindebackers, NEW quarterbacks, NEW wide recievers, NEW running backs, and NEW deffensive backs. It's still the same old eagles. Although I would never doubt any opinion made by a couch of the NFL I find there quarterback situation odd. We all know of there pick of Michael Vick a quarterback who never seconed anyone until last year. Then we have Kevin Kolb. The back up QB for the eagles for around three seasons. Now one might think "throw in Vick, you know the one thats already a proffesinal QB?" But now that i've said this I suppose you already know what they acctually did. Yes Kevin Kolb will be starting us off this year (as far as we know) and I'm not saying this man has no potential. For every time he's been thrown in a game he goes for 100% accuracy, even if he only throws one pass... But has made up over 300 yards which averages 100 yards per season which is not bad at all for a second string quarter back. He's got the jersey, He's got the guts, lets see if he's got the skill.

The Draft - 2
And as the draft continues the college seniors are being picked clean. I'm reporting the first round. The first pick went to the Rams and they picked up college QB Sam Bradford, He's known for his amazing accuracy and won a heisman on '08. He missed most of the 2009 with a shoulder injury. The next pick was Detroits who picked up Ndamukoong Suh a defensive tackle. He has ridicoulous strength superior agility and got 12 sacks in '09. The third pick was Tampa Bays they picked up Gerald McCoy another deffensive tackle. This guy will do whatever it takes to get past the line and sack the QB with 12.5 sacks. The fourth pick went to Washington who nabbed Trent Williams an offensive tackle who blocked almost any run coming his way. The fifth picked belonged to Kansas City who grabbed Eric Berry a free safety, he reads and reacts. Sixth pick was Seattle who picked up an offensive tackle Russel Okung with no specific strength yet no weakness either. Cleveland picked seventh and got Joe Haden a corner back, He has no strength but other than working on his speed is a superior athlete. Oakland picked up Rolando McClain on the 8th pick. A tall inside line backer but has 105 tackles to his name. Buffalo went ninth and picked up C.J Spiller a running back and by the looks of it could make it in the big league. The tenth pick was Jacksonville who picked deffensive end, Tyson alualu a superior athlete with 60 tackles AND 8.5 sacks. Number 11 is san franciso who picked up Anthony Davis an offensive tackle. 12 was San Diego who grabbed Ryan Mathews a running back who avereaged 6 yards a run. 13th was our Phillidelphia Eagles who got Brandon Graham an outside line backer. at fourteen we have seattle again who got Earl Thomas a corner back. Shame. - 4
How many NFL stars can be put to shame? Don't even get me started. We all know the infamous story of Michael Vick. But Sometimes reputation covers up somes faults. I am a die hard steelers fan, but i'm also a journalist and my job is to tell you what you need to know. We all know Ben Roethlisburger. The steelers amazing quarterback, one might even say he's in the top five of what he does. But does anyone know what he's like off the field? Being a quarterback one would think "Oh! the playmaker! Hes gotta be pals with the whole team!" But Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward would disagree. The two pittsburgh players say that Ben is socially ackward and rarely ever is socially active with the team off the field but if you though it couldn't get better, it does. Ben has always been known for his victories on the field. Most know about how the steelers lead in superbowl wins. But most forget about that motorcycle accident in 2006 or the two recent sexual assult charges? Yes. Interesting what a good rep could cover up. Though Ben's mistakes could ruin one of the best teams reputations. The request for Ben's DNA is no longer here but the charges still stand. you might ask what does his team think about him? Well he hasn't been proven guilty but when they asked Mike Tomlin (head coach) he responded “He’s a ridiculous competitor. A good guy. A guy that wants to win. A guy that doesn’t mind toting the burden that comes with being the quarterback of our football team. Really, what you see is what you get, from my perspective.” But the fact is all he could talk about is ben's performance. No one knows what ben does on the weekends and a player that has no social relations with the team doesn't even sound like some one who's on the team. One of the best QB's on one of the best teams may have just ruined it's Rep.
